Mark Tilley
Mark Tilley,
P.I.T., spoke about Faith, Attitude, and Gratitude, using three scriptures as
his basis.
Faith—John
3:16 “God so loved the world that He
gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have everlasting life.” We didn’t know who He was. We must accept God by faith. We must give Jesus everything. It’s all or nothing with Jesus.
Attitude—Matthew
4:19 “’Come, follow me,’ Jesus said,
‘and I will make you fishers of men.’”
Peter and Andrew took a leap of faith and followed Him. Their attitude changed; they took on Christ’s
attitude. When we follow Him, our
attitude will change.
Gratitude—Galatians
2:20 “I have been crucified with
Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” We thank Jesus
for what He has done. He has done what
we couldn’t do for ourselves. He paid
the price, and gave us eternal life.
By faith we
accept Jesus and give Him everything. We
follow Him and our attitude changes. We express our gratitude for His sacrifice
by living for Him.
What does the
P.I.T. after his name stand for? Pastor In Training! This was Mark’s first sermon at Hope. (Not his first sermon—it was his second!) He will be taking classes from Nazarene Bible
College.
