Sermon Notes, April 29, 2012
Janice Sinozich
Pastor Jan
shared her vision for Hope, using four scripture verses as the basis for her
message.
John 3:16,
“God so loved the world that He gave his
one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
everlasting life.” God is love—He
sees us as He created us to be. God is
over all. He showed us through His Son
how to love.
In Matthew
22:37, Jesus tells us the greatest commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind.” We show our
love for God by the way we live our lives.
Worship is living every day for God.
Matthew
22:39 continues, “The second
(commandment) is like it. Love your
neighbor as yourself.” If we love
God, we will show it by loving others.
However, you can’t love others well unless you love yourself. We are to have sober judgment, not thinking
too highly of ourselves, or have false humility, but to see ourselves as God
sees us. God has given each of us a role
to play in the Body of Christ. We are to
be Jesus to others. You give God glory
when you do what He made you to do.
Matthew
28:19, The Great Commission, says “Therefore,
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you.” Tell the world your story.
It is in community that we strengthen and share what God has blessed us
with. We grow as we fulfill God’s
mission for us.
Loving God and
loving others through discipleship, in simple and relational ways. That is our vision statement. God will teach us and grow us as we work to
His mission in this world.
