Sermon Notes, October 12, 2014
Sunday’s
service was a farewell service/wedding reception for our pastor, Rev. Jan
Sinozich, who married Rev. Ray LaSalle on October 9. There was lots of music, with several guest
musicians in addition to our worship team.
Words of Wisdom were spoken by members of the congregation, with Words of Encouragement given
by Rev. Ray LaSalle.
Rev.
Ray asked us to turn to Acts 29 for the scripture reading, but of course we
couldn’t, because the book of Acts has no conclusion. It is still being written; God is still doing mighty works through His church. Acts 14:27 tells how Paul and his team came
back to Antioch and reported all that God had done through them as they preached
to the gentiles. Our church today will
be blessed as the church at Antioch was blessed as we allow God to work through
us, and as we report not only what He’s done for us, but also what He’s
doing through us.
The
wedding reception, including a lovely barbecue dinner catered by Shawn’s Barbecue,
and wedding cake from Knakal’s, followed Communion served by both of
the Rev. LaSalles. After a honeymoon in
Florida, Pastor Jan will join the staff of Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene in
Ohio, where Rev. Ray is the senior pastor.
We will miss Pastor Jan, but we know God will continue to use her and
Pastor Ray in Ohio as He works through them.
