Just a quick note to praise the Lord for taking care of the things that concern us.
This week our 4-year-old over-the-range microwave went out. Everything worked but it wouldn’t heat. We called the manufacturer who referred us to a local authorized service company, and since it was the “magnetron” it was covered by the extended warranty that came with the machine. We had to send a copy of the warranty page to the manufacturer (thus overriding their present policy of only a 1-year warranty) so the local guys could be paid, but WE didn’t have to pay! It would’ve cost $105 plus parts for the service call, and that part is about $200. So Praise the Lord because we didn’t have to come up with over $300!
Also this week we had the regular maintenance service done for our air conditioner. The technician replaced a capacitor in the air handler, then he turned off the “service disconnect” outside, because inside the box a breaker was melted. He said it could cause a fire, and only a licensed electrician could fix it. I was angry—this house isn’t even 4 years old yet: this should not be happening! We called the company that did the original wiring on our house, and they said if it was something they had done wrong, they would not charge us, but otherwise it would be $135 per hour plus parts to fix it so we could use our AC. Eddie, Heather, Taylor and Trinity all have pollen allergies, and we really need the air conditioner—especially since it’s supposed to get hot again this weekend. Finally a guy from the company came this evening, and he fixed it. He said it was a defective part—that it had been arcing in order to switch on and the breaker did its job so it just melted the plastic, or we’d have had a fire already. And they didn’t charge us! So Praise the Lord again because we didn’t have to come up with another $150!
Matthew 6:33 says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” And it’s talking about food and clothes and shelter, things that definitely concern us. I can tell you from experience, God DOES take care of His children. As one of our friends used to say, “It’s a lot easier to pray in faith if you have paid your tithes.” Of course, seeking His righteousness is more than paying your tithes, but I can vouch for the fact that He pours out blessings you can’t even contain when you are obedient!
Love,
Donna & Eddie Edwards
