District Assembly and Conventions Update #1

We are only about 85 days away from our annual gathering to celebration the mission and the ministry of the Virginia District. This gathering is going to be outstanding. And you will not want to miss it. Make plans now to attend, July 22-24 (Thursday evening at 7:00 through Saturday at 1:00 PM)

In this update I am asking you to join me in praying (and fasting as the Lord directs) for the gathering. We really want an outpouring of His Spirit on our worship and on all of our sessions.

Please be in prayer for our speakers:

· Rev. Adalberto Herrera (from Cali, Colombia) who will be speaking Thursday evening and Friday morning

· Dr. Stan Toler (General Superintendent) who will be speaking Friday afternoon (workshop), Friday evening, and Saturday morning. And who will be leading our assembly sessions.

Please be in prayer for our district leaders:

· Rev. Tracy Tucker (SDMI Chair) who is giving leadership to our Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries Board – our movement toward making disciples

· Mrs. Sue Brown (NMI President) who is giving leadership to our worldwide mission emphasis – our movement to reaching the world for Christ

· Rev. Bobby Kemp (NYI President) who is giving leadership to our work with students – our movement of young people for Jesus.

· Rev. Earl Roberston District Secretary who is providing us with leadership as we prepare the details of the District Assembly.

· Mrs. Ronda Lawson Executive Assistant to the Superintendent who is tasked with a myriad of administrative details in preparation for the event

· Rev. Jeff Griffith who is serving as our host pastor for the events.

· Vision 2012 – as part of his annual report to the assembly, Dr. Phil Fuller will be presenting a clear vision to help us fulfill our mission of making Christlike disciples. More to come!

In next week’s update we’ll have more highlights for you. Thank you for praying. You can find more information (including housing) on the Conventions and Assembly here.
