Tomorrow, February 23, 2014, we will be receiving the Alabaster Offering. This offering, to be given in the spirit of the woman who broke an expensive alabaster box of perfume to anoint Jesus' head, is used to buy property and buildings, beyond what the "World Evangelism Fund" budget provides, for missions all over the world. When people criticized the woman and her gift, Jesus told them "She has done what she could," and said that her act of loving sacrifice would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached. We remember tomorrow.
We can give our gifts as a loving sacrifice tomorrow, by bringing our Alabaster Boxes with money we could have spent on ourselves to help others hear about Jesus. Remember your coin-filled boxes. (But we also accept paper money and checks!)
