Deidre/Baby Update from Gay: The news yesterday was encouraging. Aiden (not sure of spelling yet!) has a few things in his favor: He has a left ventricle - underdeveloped but nevertheless there. In some of these babies there is none. The aorta, while small, is larger than the worse case; 4mm vs. 1mm.
There did not appear to be an obstruction in the aorta arch.Nor was there a hole between the left & right ventricle. This is not something they would be concerned with should it exist, in the scope of things. Wonderful cardiologist, wonderful surgeon, wonderful hospital.
Deidre can tell you more about this surgeon, but he is the best! He has written the text books used by these students & studied under or worked with, I'm not sure, the doctor who developed the first surgery Aiden has to have. Gay Hopkins: Home recovering from carpal tunnel surgery on rt. wrist. Pain meds are doing their job, continue to pray for healing.
