Jan
Sinozich has been appointed as Interim Pastor at Hope Community Church of the
Nazarene. Rev. George Stevenson,
Assistant District Superintendent, introduced her to the congregation and held
a commissioning ceremony after her message.
Pastor Jan
is no stranger to Hope Community, having served as director of music for
several years. She felt a call to the
ministry, and began taking classes from Nazarene
Bible College ,
before her move to minister at The Bridge Church of the Nazarene in Fredericksburg . She will be continuing her coursework toward
ordination
In addition
to her church and school responsibilities, Pastor Jan works full-time at the
Quantico Marine Corps base. Her current
classes will end in May, but they require a lot of writing, and so she asked
for, and received, permission to call in other people to preach for her some
Sundays between now and then.
Pastor Jan
is excited about her call to Culpeper, and has already shared some of her
vision for the church. She says it is simple
and relational:
- Connection—of God to His creation—John 3:16;
- Relation—love God, love others—Matthew 22:37-40;
- Direction—Go—Matthew 28:19.
Prayer, and working together are
the keys to bringing this vision to fruition.
With much prayer, individually and corporately, and God’s help, Pastor Jan
and our church will flesh out this skeleton of the vision God has given her for
Culpeper.
