Grammy's Update Day 8

8....the number of new beginnings!!!! We claim it! We had a birthday party celebrating 1 week in the waiting room yesterday Complete with little Debbie cakes & presents :) We even sung Happy Birthday! One of our better renditions of it too....probably because we were trying not to disturb everybody else. Docs went into his chest yesterday to clean out his lungs. There is some pneumonia now. This condition moving up the charts to Number 1. They X-rayed and were pleased with how clear they were AND we saw his diaphragm move up & down for the first time!!!! Very exciting for us! AND, Ayden now has armpit wrinkles!!!!!
I remained home today to keep the children.  Ayden, Mommy, & Daddy had quite a few visitors planning to come AND I do NOT want to exasperate the nursing staff :)  It was great to be in church & surrounded with a number of you who are holding us up!  I am overwhelmed at the amount of people following the blog & praying for Ayden.....you are all over the world!  This excites me!!!  To me it is a small taste of heaven where there will one from every tongue, tribe, & nation.  What an awesome honor!  Thank you for taking time from your day/night to catch up on us and spend time chatting about us with the Father.

Ayden's lungs are requiring additional housekeeping.  The Docs have gone in again & vacuumed more stuff out.  The x-ray afterwards indicates there remains a stubborn clot that just would not let go.....must be like the cobwebs that mysteriously reappear after being dislodged from my corners [Lisa, that's just lace draping if you come down here:) (for those of you who wouldn't know, she's my landlord - & friend)].  The plan is to now nebulize him thru the ventilator to see if steroids will coax it loose so they can remove it.  No word about the original surgery yet other than it should be soon, early week, no need to put it off longer......

So, despite everything Ayden is doing well.  Aubrie & Elijah were allowed to kiss his head yesterday and they are VERY happy!  Elijah thinks Ayden's hair is softer than gary's (gary is his blanket).  We all are thankful to be covered by your prayers & are awed by the Creator.  Most days (in a galaxy far, far away!) we didn't think much about how our bodies work.....they just do.  Now it seems all we do is think about how our bodies work.  What a wonder!  How magnificent is our God!!!!

Praying for you as you pray for us,
Gay & family :)
