Grammy Update - Day 11

The days are running together. It's hard to believe that Ayden is just11 days old - it seems like forever. I think we must be getting a literal picture of a day being like a thousand years and a thousand years being like a day. I know it must be somewhat confusing for you too. I'm sorry to have kept you hanging yesterday. Updates do go to the blog via Pastor if I am not updating SO if you are on my email list and are not checking the blog you can find info during the time I'm not able to write you. Here's the address: Hope Community Church PowerLine

They located the bleeder during surgery & sutured. It was in the pulmonary artery. In addition there were 2 (or it may have been 3) other places on the lung. This was GREAT news & we are so thankful! But as true with babies this critical things change constantly. The bleeding while slowing still continues at a volume that it shouldn't be. One of the doctors before the surgery said we are just getting into the woods, far, far from getting out of it. We celebrate any successes & praise God for it! But we continue to need His touch, direction, wisdom, and healing. It is hard to understand why when you know God can instantly heal He doesn't. His thoughts are not our thoughts & His ways are not our ways. What am I able to tell you is this: this one small infant has accomplished BIG things by the hand of God. For instance, you. There are at last count 1400 different IP addresses following the blog in addition to the area churches & whoever you update. You are in countries all over in the world....even in one I had not heard of! God can connect His body no matter what the distance & whether or not we know each other because HE knows us! Beautiful! Thank you for being woven into our story. That awes us! Yesterday I was given a glimpse of another way Ayden is touching lives. Before surgery a number of people stopped in front of our unit....I told Ayden he had a fan club stopping by:) One of our drs told me they were from the engineering dept forconstruction.... Ayden is the sickest patient they have in addition to be the one who is having all the complications you can have being born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The equipment they have in is room is quite something & they are redesigning the units to better treat patients. Ayden is their visual. All this is hard but one thing I know is the impact he has had on the world in 11 days is incredible and the plan God has for him huge already. If you have ever thought God couldn't use you think again. Sometimes we are like Thomas & need to see for ourselves; so be encouraged by Ayden. We have a pint size Gideon in front of us. No, he is not slaying Midianites but his enemy here is comparable for his little life. The Lord is with our mighty warrior:) just as He is with you. Mighty Warrior!

I would ask that you petition/beg the Lord to spare my daughter & Chris the heart ache of having to make a decision about life support. If this bleeding does not get under control this could be a possibility.

Rounds have not been completed today so we don't know today's plan for him. If the bleeding slowed as hoped he would have rested 48 hours & then proceeded for theoriginalsurgery that was to have been so risky:) Have you ever welcomed the thing you thought you dreaded? That's where we are. Do pray for continued good communication between us & the drs. We were not happy yesterday at all with it. We waited hours after Ayden was back on the floor & then conflicting info was given. This is quite stressful.

Again, we treasure your prayers and love. Thank you.

Hugs from thankful hearts!
